Backyard Patio Design REVEAL!!! One Room Challenge Week 6

I’m so excited! It’s the final week of the One Room Challenge and time to REVEAL our rustic modern backyard patio design! This challenge was more difficult than last years guest room makeover. We were down to the wire this time around and the landscaping really took a lot out of us! But, alas, it was so worth it. We’ve been enjoying the patio more than ever and have already put the space to good use.

If you’d like to see the weekly progress updates, check them out here: week 1, week 2, week 3, week 4 and week 5.

Here it is! Our rustic modern backyard patio design! All the sources are at the end of the post.

The pallet board ceiling really makes an impact in the space! It adds warmth, texture and a dose of rustic which I offset with the modern, clean-lined furniture.

I am so glad I decided to paint the exterior of all those doors! The sage green is so calming and pops nicely off the white brick. Speaking of, I did a blog post on the amazing product that made painting these doors super easy.

The hanging chair is one of my faves. It adds a fun, whimsy element in the space.

The landscaping was one of the most grueling aspects of the challenge but I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. I love the river rocks and the simplicity of the plants.

I combined sage green outdoor pillows with tasseled basketweave and vintage kilim throw pillows for pattern.

For dining seating, I chose table stools and I am so glad I did. They slide under the table when not in use and are great space savers. I paired them with two wire mesh armchairs at the head of the table.

My vintage Hungarian tub on a stand makes the cutest container for an herb garden.

We also have a potted lemon and lime tree on the patio.

The copper farmhouse sconces really pop off the painted white brick patio walls and tie in nicely with the ceiling fans.

Of course, I had to get this cute floor pillow for the pups!

There ya have it! Our rustic modern backyard patio design reveal! Don’t forget to check out the other One Room Challenge featured designers and guest participants! Thank you House Beautiful for helping to put on such an amazing biannual design event.

And because no good reveal post is good without a “before” shot or two (or five), here’s a little trip down memory lane. 🙂
