Powder Room Finishes Finalized! (Including a Big Decision on Tile!)

Since my last powder room post, I’ve made a lot of decisions and all of the powder room finishes have been finalized, including the patterned tile selection!

In case you missed it, check out the intro post to the powder room remodel.

Powder Room Remodel Demo Update

But first, a quick recap on the demo situation. Here’s a look back at the space:

We pushed the powder room into the area that used to be a coat closet.

Here’s the current state of the powder room remodel:

The sink and toilet plumbing were moved to the far left wall and the toilet vent was adjusted to accommodate a door across from the window. We still have to re-frame the walls, add the pre-hung door and move the electrical for the lighting, but the room is starting to take shape.

If you recall, I was dying to use some handmade Tabarka tile in this space. I narrowed down some of my favorite options and ordered samples.

After mulling it over for a few days and looking at each pattern’s repeat on a larger scale, we decided to go with Toureg 5. Here it is shown with several tiles so you can get a better idea of the large-scale pattern. It will be going on the wall behind the vanity and toilet from floor to ceiling.

You can barely see them here, but I opted to change the color of the tiny dots in the middle of the pattern from turquoise to caramel.

With the wall tile pattern finalized, I could finally nail down the other finishes. Here’s where I landed:Daly Digs powder room finishes

To round out the powder room finishes, I selected a chrome wall-mount faucet, light fixture and accessories and a charcoal concrete vessel sink that will sit on a floating vanity made from a piece of salvaged black marble. The marble was salvaged from a local historic resort that was torn down a few years ago. I love incorporating a bit of history and salvaged material into a space when possible. For flooring, we chose a large-format black slate tile. I’ll bring in some texture and color with a vintage rug, artisan hand towels and baskets.

I still have to figure out a window covering solution. Any ideas?

There ya have it! The final powder room finishes! A small space with a big personality. What do you think?
