Who loves brunch? Errreeeeyyybody loves brunch. At least they should. It’s an excuse to sleep in and have cocktails with your late breakfast. If you’re not brunching regularly you have got to get with the program, folks! Recently I styled an easy fall brunch and I’m excited to share it with you today!

I love brunch. I love entertaining. However, I’m not the best in the kitchen so I typically try to prepare dishes that are easy, that I can prep the day or night before so I can spend more time focusing on the things that I enjoy more (like place settings haha). This also helps free me up to mingle with the guests when they arrive and not be chained to the kitchen stove.

Easy Fall Brunch Inspiration

We recently hosted some friends over for brunch. It was right after the official day of fall so of course, I would go all out with the traditional fall theme. Even though here in Florida early fall means nothing to the weather man. Despite the hot, muggy weather, I was determined to create a cozy, fall brunch, dammit. Our guests, Emily and Thomas, are a super sweet, cute-as-a-button, hubby and wifey wedding film photography duo. Their work is amazeballs and you must go stalk their portfolio. I’ve had the honor of styling a few projects photographed by Emily and Thomas, and I’m always astounded by how oh-so-good the images look. So, when Emily offered to snap a few pics of our cute little fall brunch, my eyes light up and hearts popped out of them just like the emoji, and I exclaimed a resounding YES! So folks, check it out!

Emily and Thomas have two little adorbs fur babies of their own, Cannon the Goldendoodle and Oliver the Westie. They were our guests too so, naturally, we had to capture all the pups! OMGGGGG I can’t even!!!!

And of course, our silly pups Java and Twix!

OK, back to the brunch. The menu, you ask? I prepared a PUMPKIN french toast bake, poached eggs atop regular and sweet potato hash, a fruit salad and an obligatory side of bacon. For drinky drinks we had apple cider and pomegranate mimosas. A quick note about french toast bakes – you guys, they are awesome sauce if you have overnight guests or hosting a brunch. Get a loaf of french bread, cut it into pieces and soak it in your egg, milk, and spices mixture overnight. Then all you have to do is bake it the next day. I’m a big fan. So everything was easy peasy. Except for the eggs which I may have had to ask #motd to help me with. Runny eggs are a new thing for me and I always overestimate just how long they need…hey, I told ya I’m not great in the kitchen…unless I’m decorating it.

Guys, a nice, put-together event does not have to be expensive or take a lot of time to set up. Sure, I sourced a couple things for this brunch, but you don’t have to get carried away. Here are my tips for effortless, affordable, yet nicely presented entertaining:

• Purchase flowers from the supermarket and/or accessorize the table with fruits and vegetables. This is especially easy around fall when all the mini pumpkins are out. You can even paint the pumpkins to add unexpected moments throughout your tablescape.
• Get creative and use non-traditional things for your decor. I started with a throw from Target that I used as a tablecloth. I used linen napkins but if you don’t have napkins, repurpose a flannel or plaid shirt. The antlers are from a wreath I found on sale at Pier 1. I deconstructed the wreath into individual antlers, spray painted them lightly and worked them into the decor. I found the cute acorns at Joann and I used them as napkin rings. I had some feathers in my stash of props and goodies and worked them into the tablescape, including the floral arrangements.
• Stock your kitchen with cute serving utensils and serving dishes. Home Goods is great for finding affordable pieces to have in your arsenal.
• Serve the food directly out of the pan like I did here with the cast iron.

So there ya have it. Some great inspiration for a fall brunch menu and decor.
