Our Block Print-Inspired Christmas Tree
A couple of weeks ago when I was planning my Thanksgiving table decor, I was talking to a friend about how block print is having a moment right now. I had fallen in love with these block print napkins for Thanksgiving but they sold out before I could purchase them. (I got these napkins instead.) Around this time I had Christmas on the brain too, trying to come up with a unique idea for my tree decor. The two thoughts collided and I knew I had to make a block print-inspired Christmas tree happen. I had seen embroidery hoops used on trees before, so I used that idea as inspiration to put block print fabric in the hoops for impactful, unique ornaments.
For the block print embroider hoops I used these napkins, this pillow, and this fabric I had leftover from a pillow for the mudroom.
I also used these wood block stamps to add some block print-inspired details to the khaki ribbon that hangs from the tree. I had my little one help me with this step.
In addition to the block print embroidery hoops and ribbon, I used the large DIY textured ornaments from a few years ago, faux poppy seed flower bundles, faux yellow seeded eucalyptus stems, straw ornaments, and coffee-colored ribbon (ripped in half) to decorate the tree.
I ordered this gorgeous handmade tree skirt but it didn’t make it in time so I used an Indian bedspread that I’ve had for years until it arrives.
There you have it, my block print-inspired Christmas tree! Be sure to check out the rest of the trees in the blog hop for some inspiration! Happy decorating!

Your block print-inspired Christmas tree is truly a work of art! The fusion of block print fabric in embroidery hoops for ornaments is both ingenious and visually stunning. The thoughtful use of various elements, from the khaki ribbon with block print details to the textured ornaments and faux flower bundles, creates a unique and festive ambiance. It’s evident that your creativity knows no bounds, and involving your little one in the process adds an extra layer of warmth to the project. The temporary use of the Indian bedspread as a tree skirt is a brilliant solution. Your tree is a delightful showcase of originality and holiday spirit – truly inspiring!
