It’s finally here! I’m sharing all the details of the green girls’ nursery we created for little Shiloh. We transformed a drab bedroom into a cute oasis for our little babe. From the custom DIY wall paneling and trim to the wallpaper, this room was a labor of love.
Be sure to check out the other posts about the nursery:
Also, have you seen the nursery en suite bathroom reveal? At the last minute we decided to update the nursery bathroom in conjunction with the nursery and I’m so happy we did.
As always, before we get started, let’s take a look at where we started in this room.

The Nursery: Before
Aside from installing new floors, we hadn’t done much in this room since purchasing our home 4 years ago. It served as a catchall/work out room. The room is not large by any means, but it has a cute bay window that adds some character.
A Green Girl’s Nursery: The After
My goal in the room was to create a space that felt whimsical and peaceful. I did not want it to feel overly girlie but still have feminine touches. It needed to flow with the rest of our home and have a hint of farmhouse vibe but not over the top. I wanted it to be suitable for a little one and evolve with her over time.
I knew early on that I wanted to do a wall treatment in the room. I stared at few wallpaper options for weeks and then PhotoWall reached out to collaborate and I fell in love with their whimsical wallpaper pattern. The pattern is made up of watercolor trees, foliage, bunnies, dogs, castles, and horses in a muted color palette. I love that it has horses because you can see our neighbors pasture and horse from the nursery window.
Once we had the wallpaper set in stone, I knew I’d want to do some sort of wall paneling. Since the wallpaper pattern is small-scale, I thought it would feel overwhelming to wallpaper every wall. I didn’t like the idea of an accent wall, instead, I wanted to carry the wallpaper throughout the room. Pairing wallpaper and paneling is a gorgeous look so we went with it! After shopping around for some paneling we settled on these tongue-and-groove planks. More on that in the nursery update post.
One of my favorite things in this space is the window coverings. We worked with Select Blinds on the woven wood shades from their premium farmhouse line. We were able to customize everything about the shades. They feature blackout liners and are cordless. The shades provide texture and warmth to the room and the quality is incredible.
We went through many paint samples (twelve to be exact) before deciding on Eden from the Magnolia line (at 80% strength). Green ended up being a perfect fit. It flows with the rest of our home and I love green for a girls’ nursery. The wallpaper softens the green and makes the space feel more feminine.
For furniture, I chose a crib in an antique brass finish that feels very vintage. I paired it with a creamy farmhouse-style dresser and a linen glider.
The crib canopy softens the room and the metal crib, especially because I chose not to do drapes.
A reading nook with a white bookcase houses Shiloh’s growing library and accent decor. We’ve already spent many hours in this little cozy corner.
You may have noticed, some of the images have the window seat cushion and some do not. My cushion was delayed significantly so we photographed the room without it and believe it or not, after waiting months for it to arrive (and rescheduling the photoshoot once) it arrived just after my photographer friend left the day she shot the room. I can’t even believe it but that’s how it goes. So I went back and added a few shots to show the window seat with the cushion because, despite my frustration with it, the cushion is pretty darn good.
We love how our green girls’ nursery turned out and love spending time in there with Shiloh.
