Edgy, Glam Holiday Party Inspiration

Remember how I told you guys I used to own a vintage rental and styling company? Well, before closing the doors to my business, I did one last wedding styled shoot hoorah with my dear friend Emily. You guys know Emily, she snapped the pics in my post about how to host an easy Fall brunch. A “styled shoot” in the wedding industry is when a lot of wedding vendors come together and basically put on a fake wedding. Each vendor typically donates their time and services in order to network, exercise some creative freedom, push boundaries and/or experiment with new techniques, and everyone involved gets the images to use for marketing. We enlist everything you would need for a wedding, down to the “bride” and “groom.” I conceptualized and styled the shoot, and I couldn’t have asked for a better team for my last wedding shoot with my industry friends! Annnndddd I’m so happy that my favorite wedding blog, Green Wedding Shoes, featured our work!

PIES & PINTS: A UNIQUE ENTERTAINING CONCEPT PAIRING PIE AND BEER

Pie and Beer…goes together like peanut butter and jelly!

Thanksgiving may be behind us, but the season for entertaining is in full swing. Today I’m sharing a casual party idea and it involves pie and beer! What more do you need? This unique party idea is the perfect solution if you have boatloads of leftover Thanksgiving or Christmas pie, or if you just want to have a laid-back, fun evening with friends.

I recently teamed up with my friend Michelle of Sweets Illustrated who whipped up some of the cutest and most delicious pies. Sweets Illustrated is based here in Tampa and offers local delivery on all products. If you’re not in Tampa, don’t fret! Michelle offers shipping to U.S. customers on her made-from-scratch French macarons and custom cookies. Michelle is known for creating edible art, illustrating her sweets and customizing them in any way you can dream up. Her work is amazing and has the most impeccable attention to detail. DUMMY PROOF EASY APPLE TATIN RECIPE

Am I the only one who didn’t know what a Tatin is? Well, I do now, and you’re about to as well. It’s one of the most simple and most yummy thing you’ll ever make. And this is coming from a gal who doesn’t really cook. I attempt to, I just don’t really know what I’m doing. Anyway, my bestie is French and on my last visit with her we made this super easy apple Tatin. Well, she made it and I snapped pics and taste tested while sipping wine.

A Tatin is an upside-down pastry in which the fruit, typically apples, are caramelized in butter and sugar before the tart is baked. According to Wikipedia, (because it’s always accurate #amiright) the tarte Tatin was created accidentally at the Hotel Tatin in a French town south of Paris in the 1880s.

Ingredients:

4 yellow/golden apples, peeled, sliced in half and cored.
4 Tbsp butter
1/3 cup sugar
1 lemon
1 vanilla bean
Pie crust

Organic, Boho Thanksgiving Tablescape Inspiration

Today is the last day of my three part tablescape inspiration series (sniffle sniffle). To recap, part one was a soft pastel pink and gold tablescape, part two was an elegant tablescape with black and deep red. It was such a fun project and I’m so psyched that our tables and my tips for entertaining this Thanksgiving were featured on Style Me Pretty Living as well as a second feature for the cocktails! I’m also so honored to have worked with Le Creuset who provided some of their amazing enameled cookware for the project! I hope I inspired you guys to do something a little different this year! The last and final tablescape I’m sharing is an organic, boho Thanksgiving tablescape and I think this one is my favorite. I mean, I love them all, but this one has some super cute touches. Here goes!

You guys! This is a huge week for Daly Digs! I have been super busy behind the scenes creating some great content for you guys and today I can finally share one of my latest projects, three completely different Thanksgiving tablescape ideas just in time for Thanksgiving next week.

I am so thrilled that Le Creuset came along for the ride and that Style Me Pretty Living, one of my favorite lifestyle blogs evaaaa, featured our project today! Ahhh someone pinch me! You can see Style Me Pretty Living’s full feature here!

I will post each Thanksgiving tablescape idea in detail here on Daly Digs over the next three days so get ready for some pretty!

A Little Background

This project went from an idea in my head to photoshoot day in less than 2 weeks, involving a professional photographer, a HUGE brand sponsor, FOUR stationary designers, a floral designer and enough props, table decor and furniture for three, completely different tablescapes with food and cocktails!! I was dreaming of unique Thanksgiving tablescapes, a departure from the traditional table décor in fall colors.

Who loves brunch? Errreeeeyyybody loves brunch. At least they should. It’s an excuse to sleep in and have cocktails with your late breakfast. If you’re not brunching regularly you have got to get with the program, folks! Recently I styled an easy fall brunch and I’m excited to share it with you today!

I love brunch. I love entertaining. However, I’m not the best in the kitchen so I typically try to prepare dishes that are easy, that I can prep the day or night before so I can spend more time focusing on the things that I enjoy more (like place settings haha). This also helps free me up to mingle with the guests when they arrive and not be chained to the kitchen stove.

Halloween Cocktails

Halloween is creeping up on us! If you’re entertaining this Halloween, or just want to get festive in celebration of one of the coolest holidays ever, consider mixing up one of these Halloween cocktails.

Foggy French (ish) Martini

For this cocktail, I used the traditional French martini recipe but added a fall twist by replacing the pineapple juice with pomegranate juice.

Foggy French (ish) Martini Recipe:

2 oz vodka
1.5 oz pomegranate juice
.5 oz pomegrante juice
Handful of ice
Dry ice* (optional)

Pour the Chambord, vodka and pomegranate juice in a shaker. Add ice and shake. Strain into martini glass. Garnish with raspberries, blackberries or an almost dead rose. Add dry ice if you choose and aatch the magic happen.
