Did you guys hear about the new Pantone color of the year for 2018? Ultra violet it is!
There is a whole backstory on Pantone’s selection their yearly color. And lots of people have thoughts on what it means – like this interesting, albeit slightly political take from Refinery 29. Pantone’s color of the year typically manifests in fashion, decor and wedding trends.
I’ll be honest, I’m not too sure about this year’s Pantone color of the year. I’m not really a purple person but I am intrigued to see how people are going to use it. This is the perfect example of bringing in a little purple without going overboard. The purple tones in the rug and accent chair balance so nicely with the otherwise simple palette and gold accents.
Like I said, most likely I won’t be painting any rooms in my house ultra violet, but I can get behind the idea of incorporating this color through accessories and home decor. Here are a few pieces I stumbled upon that feature Pantone’s color of the year. I love the bedding and the rug, especially.
