Summer Entertaining Idea: A Backyard Picnic

Did you know that July is National Picnic Month? Don’t worry, I didn’t know until recently. Any excuse to celebrate or create a themed event is cool with me. So, when the folks over at Pampelonne sent over some samples of their French 75 sparkling wine cocktails, I knew just what to do with them! An easy backyard summer picnic. This is a great idea for date night or an easy way to jazz up cocktailΒ hour at home.

Pampelonne sparkling wines are delish, refreshing and perfect for a backyard summer picnic…or anytime. πŸ˜‰

Can we talk about this picnic basket? It comes equipped with all your picnic essential (including a wine opener!) and the inside is a lined cooler.Β For a picnic blanket, I used a tablecloth. Use what you have! This orange one was a Home Goods find.
I am in love with this woven tray that has a built in net cover to keep those unwanted bugs away from your food. This was also a Home Goods find.
My picnic menu was super simple and features prosciutto, mozzarella and cantaloupe skewers, bread sticks, baked chick peas, grapes and lemon cookies.Β  The French 75 by Pampelonne has notes of juniper, Meyer lemon, spicy bergamot and Elderflower. It’s really delicious and crisp.Β  Of course, we had to get Java in there. πŸ™‚ Silly pup.

Pampelonne is available in select stores and online. Check out their website and store locator for more information. Other flavors includeΒ Rose Lime and Blood Orange Spritz.
